- When does the Healthcare addon ship?
- Q4 2026. We're building the HIPAA-isolated infrastructure (signed BAAs with our LLM providers, PHI-aware routing, 7-year audit retention, customer-managed encryption keys) ahead of launch. Join the waitlist on this page and we'll email you the day it goes live. In the meantime, you can use DocuExtract on the non-healthcare plans (Pro / Business / Enterprise) for any documents that don't contain PHI — verbatim extraction is already production-ready.
- How does the BAA work once it ships?
- Email hello@inspireailab.com from a healthcare org address. We send a standard HIPAA Business Associate Agreement, you sign + return, we counter-sign and route your account to HIPAA-isolated infrastructure. Average turnaround: 48 hours. (This process activates at Q4 2026 launch.)
- Where does PHI actually live?
- In your encrypted database (Postgres on Neon, AWS us-east) and your cloud storage bucket. Vision-LLM calls flow through Google Vertex AI (BAA-eligible) or OpenAI direct API with ZDR (Zero Data Retention) — never AI Studio. Our infrastructure operators have access; no third party does.
- Can I use my own encryption keys?
- Yes — Healthcare addon includes customer-managed encryption keys via AWS KMS. You can revoke at any time, and we lose access to the at-rest data immediately.
- Does PHI redaction actually work on handwritten forms?
- Yes — we detect PII patterns in the OCR'd text regardless of how it was originally written. The redaction is applied to the extracted text; the source document is unchanged. Operators see what WAS redacted (audit row "3 SSNs detected") but never the raw values.
- What about audit logging requirements?
- Healthcare addon enables 7-year retention on the append-only audit log (extraction events, corrections, accesses, exports). Standard plans retain 2 years. Export to S3 / Snowflake / your SIEM via webhooks.
- Are you SOC 2 compliant?
- SOC 2 Type II audit is in progress (Q3 2026 target completion). Healthcare addon ships before SOC 2 is finalized — the underlying controls (BAA, encryption, audit log) are independent of the SOC 2 certification.
